Ok People….Lets get this thing rolling….
Ok, I really like blogging.
It’s such a simple platform – so hightech, and smooth. I have a lot going on in my life though, and I still want to make this thing work. Those of you who know me know why I’ve been falling apart lately, and how swamped I am. I’m so behind in my school work that I have no idea how I’ll catch up – but you know what? School isn’t what it should be. Not only is it boring, but it doesn’t teach us anything useful. It teaches us how to take tests. It teaches us how to go to bigger and better schools. But does school teach us anything beyond eighth grade? Once we’ve become literate and developed social skills, generic classes don’t help at all. They teach us how to adhere to standards. They teach us to fear arbitrary numbers that somehow indicate our worth as human beings. But what else?
Assorted facts, numbers, dates, and formulas. Generic information shoveled down our throats in order to turn us into little scientists (Yes – the emphasis on science and math is a remnant of the Sputnik days….).
I agree with the math\science part, but I feel that some of the classes are VERY usefull, like

Heh, I’m more so behind schoolwork then you, believe me, But I do agree with you for the most part, but I’d say the generic information is helpful in some cases, might help prepare one for a certain job, or to keep the info fresh in memory.
Meh, If the generic knowledge wasn’t overused it would be fine.
